Excerpted from "Retail Therapy" - Voiced by Meghan Perry

As a very young child I had an obsession that I was not like other people. I was a monster. That was the secret which might be found out at any moment. Before breaking with my family, I had often suffered from years of mental depression, experienced dreamlike trances, religious hallucinations, and moments of suicidal despair. It is almost invariable that when one of a family is decidedly in advance of all the others, he or she is tyrannized over by the rest and declared quite incapable of doing anything reasonable. Others have been kept unjustly in confinement by their well-intentioned relations, as unfit to be trusted with liberty.
